How to Save Your Online Business When it’s Taking a Nosedive
Can you imagine? You are a passenger on a plane and you start to feel the weight as the plane starts to spiral downward. You can hear alarms going off in the cockpit through the locked cockpit door. You feel the straps dig into your hips as the pressure increases and you can feel your stomach float up to the luggage compartment overhead.
It’s rare, but in recent history, airplanes can and will spin out of control. It’s a state caused by something called Aerodynamic Stall. “Aerodynamic stall occurs when the stream of air flowing over an aircraft’s wings becomes separated from the curve of the wing and no longer generates enough lift to counteract the plane’s weight.
This is caused by reaching too steep an angle… when the nose of the plane aims up too sharply. When an airplane reaches aerodynamic stall it often begins to roll and becomes harder to control, further complicating the situation for a pilot.”1

Did you know you can get into an aerodynamic stall in your business?
This “stall” occurs when you, as a small business owner, bite off a learning curve that’s steeper than you can manage. [You’ve pointed the nose up too steeply and too sharply to keep control of the plane.]
You see, like a stream of air, you have processes, or at least parts of what you do on a regular routine, that are alive and well in your business and that keep you flying evenly as you travel from one goal to another in your business.
But when you change the trajectory and try to climb too quickly, you pull yourself out of the stream of income, audience growth, new customers, and new subscribers that you need to keep your business afloat.
The result: you feel like you’ve lost control of your business and the things that you’ve worked so hard to put together start to feel like they will spiral out of control.
The Solution that Will Help You Save Your Online Business
To pull out of an aerodynamic stall, you have to “put the nose down, get it below the horizon, regain a flying speed and then pull out of the ensuing dive.”2
The same is true with your business. You have to get off of that steep learning curve or aerodynamic climb, put your nose down, and refocus on the horizon [what you have right in front of you] so you can regain control of your business and keep things from unraveling at the seams.
When Things Start to Plummet
My #1 stream of income is sponsored work. A few months ago, despite the success I was experiencing in landing paid work for myself and my clients, I felt like I’d hit an aerodynamic stall in my business. I had tried to tackle a steep learning curve and instead of giving my business a lift, things started to plummet.
I was trying to build a sales funnel. It’s not my area of expertise. Pitching brands and landing paid sponsored work –> I’ve got that process down pat and I do it for myself and my clients all day long.
Creating the digital manifestation that makes up a sales funnel… well, let’s just say, I’m still in flight school on simulators.

Things were plummeting and I could not even see the root cause of the problem, I needed another pilot to help me get the nose down so I could regain some speed and straighten out my craft so it would not continue to fall.
You Need Another Pilot
I have to give Dana Malstaff [creator of Boss Mom] all the credit. She helped me refocus on what works for my business and is walking me through how to climb the entrepreneurial income airstream without going at too steep an incline.
Now the goal is in sight, and I’m slowly gaining stability in flight again. Do you need help getting a handle on your business? Having a mentor and co-pilot can make a huge difference in your flight or failure. I’m currently enrolled in Boss Mom Academy led by Dana Malstaff.
When you’re flying through uncharted air channels it’s best to ride with another pilot who has flown it before and who can give you a flight pattern through the sky.
If you want to grow your income by working with sponsors and brands, I want to climb into the flight cockpit with you and help you fly to new heights. But if you need help getting your online business out of aerodynamic stall, or if you want to chart a fight pattern that will get you through the Bermuda Triangle of building an online sales funnel – I trust my life and my business to Dana Malstaff.
Got any questions? PM me, I’ll give you the skinny. I’ve got an MBA in International Business and I’ve learned a ton from Dana.
If you sometimes find your business in an aerodynamic stall, you really need an experienced aviator and I highly recommend Dana Malstaff.
